Health tips for genital skin care
The skin of the genital area needs special care due to its special environmental conditions (hot, humid, exposed to urine, excretions and secretions, and exposed to frequent friction) compared to the skin of other parts of the body.
In this article, we would like to take a note of the methods and health tips in the care of the skin of the genital area:
- Avoid washing too much because it causes the loss of the skin’s protective fat and intensifies moisture
- Avoid disinfectants such as betadine and strong detergents (which cause redness and discoloration of the skin).
- Do not use health creams and lotions (non-therapeutic) due to the presence of preservatives and causing skin allergic reactions.
- Allergic reactions to most drugs, such as antibiotics, pain relievers, etc., appear as coin-shaped lesions.
- Genital itching is the diagnostic key of many diseases.
- Avoid frequent itching of the skin of this area because it causes chronic skin diseases, thickening and discoloration of the skin.
- In men (especially diabetics), if the skin of the testicles is scratched, it is prone to the most severe skin-destroying infection called Fournier’s gangrene, which can spread to the skin of the chest.
- Do not use a hair dryer even at low temperature to dry this area.
